Hola!

I'm still here! We have been so busy!! One weekend my best friend came to town, the next we were in New Orleans for a surprise 75th, and this past weekend I had a big work event and friends in town! Luckily, so you know I'm not lying, some of this was in the news!

As for my work event, once a month for the past two years I put on a free over the counter medicine give away day. This was our first time having it outside of Charlotte... and the turn out was insane.... typically we get 250 people... in High Point we got 672!!! Here's some of the coverage.....

Fshew, I think this week should be a bit more relaxing. In other news I am scheduled to have my 3rd IUI this week and I am having acupuncture done today. I have also started Shakeology. Both the shakes and the acupuncture are known to help with infertility. Sooooo, fingers crossed! :)

Well, Hello....

I had to share this video that I saw this morning on Kathie Lee and Hoda..... it's a grannie dancing it up on her way to her car. You have to watch all the way to the end because there is a nice surprise! :) I think she might be my idol. Ha!

Good news - the Gala went really well! There are always a few hiccups but nothing that couldn't be solved on the fly! Today we find out how much money we raised so I will have to share that once the results are in!

As for my health craziness last week and the week before - I was taking my hypothyroid medicine at the wrong time of day - at night! Apparently to have it release when it's most needed, you have to take it in the morning!! Woops! So I got that figured out. Yay. I think I had a little virus thing too - Sudafed helped that over this past week. Fshew.

In other news, I will be 30 in a little over a month from now. So, I am feeling the need to lose 10 pounds by the point. It's a good incentive and well, I need to lose 10 pounds. So I am doing the 17-day diet again.

Next little moment to look forward to - Tonight: BACHELOR FINALE! Can.not.wait. Who will Sean choose?!

Next big moment to look forward to - March 27th - WICKED. This was one of our Christmas gifts from my parents and I cannot be more excited! I tried to see the play in NYC a few years ago with my friend Bethany but since we were poor we didn't want to pay full price for tickets and we ended up not winning any in the "lottery" that the theatre holds. Bummer! BUT, now I get my turn to see the Witches on stage! Side note: I've already memorized all the songs. Just sayin'.

Wanna win chocolates n' roses?

Check out this awesome basket of gourmet chocolates. So yea this is a work related post but it can totally be of interest to you IF you want to win chocolates and roses (who doesn't?).

Here are the deets - We have launched a new giving campaign called 12 for 12. A person can donate $12 for 12 months - easy and simple. If you don't know where I work, here is the low down, it's a non profit that is a free pharmacy for the state of NC that gives those who are low income and uninsured their medicine to survive. :) Back the the campaign. To launch the campaign we have began a Facebook Contest. It's super easy. You basically have to go to our Facebook page.... share our 12 for 12 video by clicking "share" and then copy/pasting our contest information on to your own Facebook page for all of your friends to see :) The more you do it, the more likely you will win!

Here is the link for our page. Oh and you better watch the video, I put a lot of time into that thing!

Hey hey it's Friiiiiiday!

So I know my posts have been a little "lacking" lately. Things have been crazy busy so I am sorry for that but hope to get back into the regular posting swing of things right now! haha.

First of all, here is where I have been....The Foundation was thanked by Jackson Park Elementary School in Kannapolis for their donation of $28k to feed children through the Blessings in a Backpack program. Kelley E and Martha E accepted their kind gifts and made an appearance at the school earlier this month. You can read more about it here and more about Blessings here.
The Foundation got a new look in the retail store.... very excited about it! We also got new merch for the All-Star race where the car paint scheme was dedicated to us and VH1's Save the Music Foundation. You can read more about that here.

Yes, the foundation is raffling off a camaro - you can get your raffle ticket for this hot ride here
We raised over $2500 doing a Spin to Win trivia game... race week at JR Motorsports is crazy hectic but a lot of fun! You can read more about it here.
It was pretty popular :)

May = Charlotte races = tons of work stuff going on for the bossman and for his foundation!

In other NASCAR news..... we released this press release last week, I am thrilled that we are supporting VH1's Save The Music Foundation at the All-Star race in Charlotte, check out the press release, our special paint scheme on the race car and cute merchandise for the event, here!

March Forth with Hope

Make A Wish kid Hope lived in Charlotte with her family and her wish was the grant all the other Wish kids' wishes. When she lost her battle to cancer, her parents started her Foundation to help families with the financial burdens that come with having a child with a terminal disease. Their benefit for Hope was last night at the Panthers Stadium. She was a really special kid. Here is a video about her and her foundation, March forth with hope.

I love my job.

A little girl who is a huge Dale Jr. fan and is wheel chair bound sent me the picture of she and I at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of the Dale Jr Corral and Amphitheater at Victory Junction Gang Camp from March of 2010. I met she and her grandfather and helped them to get a picture with Dale Jr. They were such a nice family and I was so moved when I opened their letter because with as many letters as I open that are addressed to Dale Jr or the Foundation weekly, I have never once received a letter addressed to me with my picture enclosed. It was so sweet and I have the photo hanging next to me at work so that I can remember that what I do actually makes an impact on so many fans. It's a great reminder even on those hardest days.

Shaq VS Dale Earnhardt, Jr

In case you missed this show last night on ABC.... you can watch it on their website: http://abc.go.com/shows/shaq-vs
We got to see the taping of the show here at JR Motorsports and it was so crazy to see Shaq in person -- he is enormous! But what I didn't pick up on was his SILLY HUMOR. He is such a goober! I was bursting out laughing during the show - he was so funny!! Not only did he race Dale but he also went up against the Nation's Spelling Bee Champ! He was great with the kids. I was so proud of Dale Jr. as he was sporting our Foundation firesuit AND hat! :) :) It made me so happy to see our stuff on national television! :)

New to NASCAR

I sent my great aunt Barbara these Dale Jr. items because since she moved into assisted living, she has been racing around on her new scooter! Apparently she is SO fast! We thought she needed a little NASCAR flare for her new ride! Isn't she the cutest??

The Dale Jr. Foundation's "Rockin' the River" Concert Series

I just have to share another work thing with you guys because it's for charity ....aaaaand it's a fun thing so that just doesn't count as a work thing, ok? lol

SO...We are having a concert series during the month of October at Whiskey River. All proceeds go to the Foundation which in turn will make donations to The Victory Junction Gang and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

If you live in Charlotte, you might really want to consider going because the acts are pretty darn good! And if you are familiar with the country concert series at Verizon each summer - it's kinda of like that, just inside AND for charity! ;)
Not to mention, what else are you gonna be doing on a Thursday night?? Exactly.

Here is the ticket link.

The acts are as follows:

Oct. 1: Jessie James & The Carter Twins
$15 in advance/$20 day of show

Oct. 8: Rehab
$15 in advance/$20 day of show

Oct. 15: Gavin DeGraw
$25 in advance/$30 day of show

Oct. 22: Blake Shelton
$25 in advance/$30 day of show

Oct. 29: Phil Vassar
$15 in advance/$20 day of show

Let me know if you'll be going!

If you've ever been and a Receptionist or an Admin...

...you can relate :)

Thought this was funny...and sadly, a little true!

I asked the hotel receptionist for a wake-up call.
Next morning, she rang and said, "what are you doing with your life?"

Don't Forget the Little Things

While at Target this weekend I picked up some kiddie Valentine's Cards for the office. I like to give them along side of some Nerds candy because I haven't found anyone who doesn't like Nerds! :) And the response I get is always "you made my day"! Something so small, a box of Disney themed Valentine's for $1.39/box, can make someones day :) Try it!
