Spring has sprung.... but only for a little while!

I can't believe the weather we are having! This weekend was very nice and yesterday it actually got HOT. Dave even got a "neck burn" while doing yard work! Temps will plunge later in the week but I am really enjoying the nice weather right now! Not to mention - daylight savings! Hurray for more light in the day! 

As I mentioned on Friday my parents came to town to do lunch with us on Saturday. We didn't end up going to Tupelo and instead went to Vivace. Our plans were really in the air because they were dealing with the power outage in High Point and hadn't had power since Thursday. So of course they decided to stay in Charlotte where power was not a problem and we were glad to have them! Haha. I called probably 15 places to make dinner reservations Saturday night no one had anything! So we ended up eating at a little place in our neighborhood called Intermezzo. Everyone really liked it! 

We had quite the busy weekend and I feel like I got a lot accomplished. Dinner is ready for tonight and the house is clean. Happy Monday!

Richmond Wedding

Our friends Matt and Phi got married on Saturday in Richmond, VA. Dave went to grad school with Matt and oddly enough, I went to high school with his younger brother. Odd coincidence, yes. Anyway, they are a super sweet couple and their wedding had some many personal touches that I thought I would share. Their theme was "home" and the colors blue, green and yellow. I was amazed by the "guest gifts" of these cake pops that were at each of the tables. I couldn't believe the detail on the little house and the sunflowers!

 The venue allowed Matt and Phi to hang pictures everywhere which was really cool. The top picture over the fire place was of their trip to Machu Picchu (sp?).

 Their speciality drink was Firefly and lemonade - yummmmm.

 Here they are saying their vows. The bride and bridesmaids were gorgeous! I loved their flowers and Phi wore some super cute yellow shoes! Their officiant (who I knew of from my high school days in Lynchburg and her son was my homecoming date one year) was amazing. She knew the couple so well and the ceremony could not have been more intimate. Poor Phi cried through almost the whole thing. In their vows they called eachother their "partners in crime" which was really sweet I thought. Matt is very quiet and dry and Phi is such a ham - they're the perfect pair. Each of the bridesmaids wore a silver necklace with the a little state of Virginia pendant on it.

 The weather could not have been better. After the ceremony Matt and Phi danced their first dance which was a compilation of "home" themed song like "Take me Home tonight" by Eddie Money and "Home" by Edward Sharpe & The Magentic Zeros (you'd know it if you heard it). They even choreographed dancing for each.

 Pretty huh? This is where the ceremony took place. You could eat your BBQ, slaw, and mac n' cheese inside the manor or outside. We chose outside.

 One last pic! This was their cake - the top layer had a heart inside! Their "guest book" was a big picture of the state of VA and on it there were highlighted areas like where they went college or where they grew up. It was really quite a neat wedding!

Best.Friday.Ever.

The Mia2 Clarisonic came today! They cost about $120 but this girl found one on eBay for $60 in including shipping! I have heard people raving over them and since I've been having skin issues lately I thought it best to give it a go! I hope to see smaller pores in my future! And THEN my enclosure cards came in from etsy! Aren't they the cutest??? I was out and needed some ASAP! And of course I hit up Target on my way home today and found these gems! A peach clutch to go with my wedding ensembles for wedding season and these stellar sunnies!! Happy Friday!!

Spring Obsession.

I am obsessed with this dress, shoes, nail color and lipstick that is on Atlantic-Pacific today!  The dress is from Anthropolgie and since it is $298 I will just sit here an salivate over it.

Spring at Old Navy

I'm pretty obsessed with these "boyfriend skinny khakis" from Old Navy. They come in so many fun colors AND look so comfortable. Plus, they are the low and lovely price of $30. I bet they would look adorable with a pair of Toms!







They also have brought back the "boyfriend sweater". I bought a few of these in 2009 from Ann Taylor and wore them so much that I they got holes in the elbows! LOL.

Um also love this scarf!!


I also feel like this dress could really be dressed up for a wedding by adding touches of gold - shoes, accessories, etc.
