OH Baby!

So as you have probably noticed - I took a little break from the blog. I felt like I really didn't have much to talk about anymore and since I sit at a computer all day long at work - I didn't really feel like doing the same thing when I got home. A break of a week turned in to 2 and then it turned into months. Everyone deserves a vacation though, right?? But, I think it's time I gave a little update - even if not blogging every day, a baby deserves to be talked about! :)

We finally did it. During Feb/March we did a double IUI with hormone shots and finally got pregnant! We have been over the moon ever since. I knew right away that I was pregnant, the whole experience just felt different and I was very positive about it. Instead of waiting the whole 12 days before taking a pregnancy test, I waited 9 and got a very faint pink line! After that of course I tested each day after and the line grew darker. A blood test at the fertility clinic confirmed our pregnancy and it wasn't until then that we finally believed it to be true. The first several weeks I was pretty sick with morning (all day) sickness but then my lovely doctor at the fertility clinic gave a prescription for Diclegis and I felt so much better! I was fairly tired too and really hated to keep such a big secret! We did let our families in on it right away though!

Just about a month ago we found out that we are having a BOY. We didn't know what to expect and certainly didn't care! We are just thrilled to be expanding our family with this little one! Once I reached the second trimester, it was like a switch flipped and I felt more energized and could get off the nausea medication! Since then I have been planning for the nursery and having fun registering! We have also been doing a lot of traveling - last month we were in Europe, this month in Buffalo NY, and next month to New Orleans! We have also spent a few weekends in the mountains of NC. As I get closer to the third trimester I have been feeling the baby moving around more and more. What a crazy feeling! And as for cravings, it was watermelon and now it's cereal or just carbs in general.

So here we are, on our way to being a family of 3 (plus Brees of course!)

Infertility Update

Nothing new to report here! We took a month off with the start of my new job and not knowing what my new schedule would be. We have an appointment this afternoon with our doctor to talk about future planning - so, I will fill ya'll in once I know more!

Acupuncture

Acupuncture was pretty interesting yesterday. I had a two hour appointment and the first hour was a consultation (going over the 10 pages of paperwork I had to do pre-appt.). The second hour was the treatment. Why on earth did I go and do this? I know of 3 infertile gals who got pregnant with the help of acupuncture while working with the infertility clinic. So I said, WHY NOT?!

The acupuncturist took her time with me on the treatment and explained everything to me and showed me the needles she would be using. Typically a visit takes only 30 minutes. It's your first appointment that's the longest. The needles are super thin so you really don't really feel them. The ones that I felt were those in my feet and the one in my forehead - yes, in.my.forehead. LOL. Most of the needles were in my belly which is flabby enough it wouldn't feel a porcupine. After putting the needles in, she turned down the lights, putting heating lamps over me and played spa music. I laid there for 25 minutes. Your body feels very heavy and relaxed. My muscles would spasm here and there which was funny. After the 25 minutes are up you feel very relaxed, slow moving and like you just had a good massage. Hopefully this will help do the trick! Fingers crossed!

1 Week

Welp, here we are a week after the surgery. I must say I was lucky that the dermoid cyst turned out to be a regular liquid filled cyst and that they did not find anything in way of endometreosis, stuck tubes or anything with the gal bladder! I have a post op with the doctor in October. Fingers crossed that everything is healing well and that these cysts don't return! Hopefully by November we will be back on the baby track again :) Right now I am set to go back to work tomorrow. I tried going to Target yesterday and it was not a good experience. I could barely walk around the store and got really over heated. So I knew that today was not the ideal day to return to the office. Too much too soon. I feel a whole lot better today so that is a blessing. I think Dave is tired of waiting on me hand and foot - LOL. I have been so fortunate for good weather recently! Good FALL weather! My parents came yesterday and we had lunch on the front porch - the weather (and the Peculiar Rabbit food) could not have been better! I have been overwhelmed with love over the past week from friends, family, and coworkers. I have been sent cards, flowers, fruits, dinners, and lots of well wishes! So today I am feeling very blessed and very hopeful for the future. Thanks for all of your kind words through email and text that you, my bloggy blog readers, have sent me over the past week. :)

Still here!

I'm still here and recovering... Slowly but surely! I'm trying to walk around house more and I've had a shower...both big accomplishments! Dave came home yesterday looking like this from a work "field trip". His team was called "Drunk Dynasty" lol!

I've been pampered by my amazing mother in law. She brought me fruit, tea, Capri suns, apple juice... And love! I think her toughest job was keeping Brees away from me lol. Little fur ball loves to jump! Beth even made dinners for us and froze them! She pampered Dave too with his favorite meal, Red Beans and Rice!

My friends have been so sweet! I've had several visitors, funny cards, flowers, food, gifts, and more delivered! I feel so loved! :)

Not gonna lie, I am a little worried about going to work on Monday based on how I feel today but I still have two more days so we will see! Only time will tell I guess. I've gotta try wearing real clothes and sitting in a car! To be continued....

Surgery went well and this girl is back home-tired and very sore though!

Health Scare

Dave and I went my OBGYN this past Friday for an ultrasound.  The appointment was to check out my follicles.  We were pretty prepared for the Dr. to tell us that this was his last step and that we needed to move on to a Infertility Specialist.  But, that's not what happened. The follicles DID look good. However, during the (super uncomfortable) ultrasound the nurse was all like "oh wow your ovaries are very enlarged". Then she began taking measurements on the screen and printing the images for the doctor. Obviously she couldn't say more to us because she wanted to show the Dr. the pictures first. That waiting time to see the Dr. is the worst, isn't it? So we sit down with the Dr. and he tells me that I have one regular cyst in my left ovary and one dermoid cyst in my other. Whatever you do, do NOT look up dermoid cyst. I did, and it took me two days to get over the images. Basically it's not filled with liquid like a regular cyst is and has to be removed. So it looks like this girl is having surgery this September to have both cysts removed... with a week's recovery time. Not gonna lie, I'm kinda scared as the only surgery I've ever had is to get my wisdom teeth removed. BUT if this is reason for our infertility problems then I am happy to get these ovaries all cleaned up and get the baby plans back on track! Keep us in your prayers next month please!
