Sarah's FAMOUS Lasagna

My friend and sorority sister Sarah taught me this recipe, one on one, in my old kitchen. We really should have taken it to the Food Network ;)

I love making lasagna because its so hands on and fun!

  • Sarah's Lasagna Recipe

  • Ingredients:
  • 2 cans Hunts 4 Cheese Sauce (Lg. Cans)
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 lg. bag, 4 cups, of part skim mozzarella
  • 1 16 oz. part skim ricotta cheese
  • 2 boxes lasagna noodles
  • 2 large eggs
  • grated Parmesan
  • Mrs. dash Italian blend
  • Fresh parsley (optional)

Cook ground beef. Pour 1/4 can of sauce over the bottom of a lasagna pan (or two separate smaller pans so you can freeze one). Drain. Add rest of 2 cans to the meat mixture. Beat two eggs. Add to ricotta cheese with a handful of mozzarella cheese. Layer dry lasagna noodles on bottom of pan over sauce, breaking as necessary. I like to start with cheese. I top cheese layer with a sprinkle of mozzarella, Italian blend, and parm. Then do noodle layer the opposite direction as first layer and top with meat mixture. Repeat until you can't continue :) I top last layer with remainder of mozzarella cheese, parm and fresh parsley because it makes it look pretty and that is the way Sarah does it!

*Note - this recipe is very simple so its fun to incorporate other ingredients like garlic and onion with the browning of the meat or other veggies in the sauce like peppers and mushrooms! Mmmm.
